Hillrise Construction Phase to Require Night Work

As construction continues at Hillrise Elementary, an upcoming phase in the project will require after-hours work, and residents in the area are advised that the work could be noisy.

On Monday, Nov. 21, the contractor will be pouring concrete starting at 7 a.m. During the day, noise is expected from the pump truck and the vehicle backup alarms. As the sun sets, lights will be set up so workers can continue to set the concrete. The City of Las Cruces has issued a noise permit for this phase, as Hillrise is in a predominantly residential area. Work is expected to wrap up by 10 p.m.

The initial construction phase at Hillrise, 1400 S. Curnutt Street, began in March of this year. The voter-approved bond project will create a new multipurpose room and kitchen at the school, which first opened in 1984.
