Happy Thursday MVLA! So many things to keep you in tune with.
1. Our Amazing Shake is tomorrow 9 to Noon. Judges please arrive at 8:30am.
2. The Final DAC meeting for the year has been rescheduled to May 16th at 5:30 at Tombaugh Elementary.
3. At our last PTO meeting, it was decided that our 8th grade celebration will be on May 26th at 6pm.
Traditionally the ceremony includes some refreshments. The PTO brainstormed some ideas, but encourages 8th grade parents to come in and give their input. The meetings to plan the celebration are:
May 4th on Zoom at 6pm. Be on the lookout for that link.
May 23rd in person at 6pm at the school to finish up the planning and possible decorations.
Each student can have 5 tickets. If they do not need 5 tickets we ask that they turn in the extras.

Join us for the Family Bike Fiesta on Saturday April 29th from 9am - noon at Lynn Community Middle School. Find us on the basketball courts west of the gym off Nevada Ave. This event is brought to you by the LCPS Safe Routes To School Program.
Kids, bring your bikes! (If you don't have a bike, borrow one from us.) Adults, bring your bikes and helmets for the community ride. Please note, all the stations are for the students, but adults, we want you to learn and enjoy with your kids. Everything is first come, first served and while supplies last.



Join us for our Family Engagement Festival happening on Friday April 28, from 6p.m.-8p.m. at Desert Hills Elementary School located at 280 N. Roadrunner Pkwy, Las Cruces, NM 88011. Hi MVLA! Our Monthly PTO meeting will be tonight at 6pm here at the school! 8th grade parents are encouraged to attend to begin planning the end of year celebration.

Do you know of a youth group raising funds to support activities or travel?
The Keep Las Cruces Beautiful program is holding a Youth Service Week from April 24-29. During this week youth, groups have the opportunity to complete a community service project that will clean up an area in Las Cruces. As a token of appreciation for the community service, the group will earn a $250 stipend from Keep Las Cruces Beautiful.
Those wishing to participate should be willing to commit to a minimum of two hours. The group can choose its own project or one can be assigned.

We are proud to congratulate the three district finalists for the 2024 Educational Support Personnel of the Year Award for Las Cruces Public Schools.
Jorge Legarreta was selected to be the Educational Support Personnel of the Year at Central Elementary School.
Andrea Ramirez earned the title for Educational Support Personnel the Year at Camino Real Middle School.
Emily Viramontes was named Educational Support Personnel of the Year at Jornada Elementary School.
Congratulations to these exemplary educational support staff for always going above and beyond for students, every day!


The Las Cruces Public Schools Board of Education will begin accepting applications from candidates interested in an appointment in District 1, a position on the board vacated by Ray Jaramillo. The deadline for candidates to submit all required documentation is April 12, 2023.
